Catching Up With Boutiqueaholics Owner Leah Stanton

As you guys and gals probably already know based on our previous posts, we have our flagship store at a unique shopping district in Las Vegas called the Downtown Container Park. We’re blessed to be surrounded by other local emerging small businesses where passion and vision are the key ingredients.  We are especially excited to highlight some of the fantastic women-run businesses (don’t worry guys, we love you too!). Just like us, these women have a head for business and a heart for making people smile!

The business we’re highlighting today is a charming women’s clothing and accessories boutique appropriately named Boutiqueaholics. Owner Leah Stanton has an eye for unique designs and is dedicated to scouring the globe to bring the most fashionable and AFFORDABLE designs to her customers. The self-described “Boutiques within a Boutique” counts us as total fans and we can often be found checking out what’s new during our lunch break instead of eating! We recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Leah to discuss her motivation behind opening her first brick-and-mortar store.

Winky Designs: What inspired you to start your own business?
Leah Stanton: I think my inspiration for fashion and creativity is what inspired me to start my own business.  It started out as just a hobby when I created the site Boutiqueaholics.com. A sort of Yelp for just clothing boutiques.  I worked on the site and blog for about a year and a half before getting the opportunity at the Container Park.

W.D.: Why did you decide to open your business in the Container Park in Downtown Las Vegas?
L.S.: Opportunities like this do not happen often. The Container Park is unique in the sense that all of the retailers are either locally owned or a small business.  That’s what Boutiqueaholics.com has always been about; discovering and shopping boutiques similar to all of the stores in the Container Park.

W.D.: Who are some of your favorite designers out there right now?
L.S.: One of the boutiques that we carry has their own line, Growze. Yukiko Kudo is the designer which is based in Japan.  The line is beautiful.  There is a great deal of detail in the cut and design of each piece. The textures of the fabric are also very rich – you’ll look like a million bucks!

W.D.: What’s your personal design/fashion aesthetic?
L.S.: I’m pretty girly. I like bows and pink but I still like to keep it classy so I won’t go overboard with a certain color or pattern that I’m wearing.

W.D.: What were some unexpected things you learned during the process of opening your store?
L.S.: To always expect the unexpected.  If you want the outcome to be successful you not only have to put your mind into it but also your heart and soul.

W.D.: What advice would you give to future entrepreneurs?
L.S.: To not doubt yourself.  There will be days when you will want to give up but have the courage to move forward and succeed at your dream.

Congratulations Leah and we’re excited to see what the bright future holds for you and Boutiqueaholics! See you during our next lunch break ;)

Make sure to show Boutiqueaholics some LOVE:
